Catching up on the Merrell's Life

These past few months have been busy and full of changes for
the Merrell Family.

I love change, so I couldn't be happier right now!  Here are some updates + a look at the adventures we've been having.

1.  Rocky is getting older.
I can't believe how fast Rocky is growing up.  A few weeks ago I was almost in tears listening to a song that we played when he was a newborn. It's crazy how much he has changed and grown in the past few months.

6 Months
Rocky is such a happy little person.

7 Months
Sometimes goofy, sometimes serious

8 Months!
Little Crawler

Here are a few details on what Rocky is doing at 8 months:
Rocky started crawling a few weeks before he turned 8 months.  He's really enjoying his new found freedom of movement, and is keeping his mother on her toes.
Rocky just pulled himself up to a standing position in the crib for the first time today.
Rocky is a happy eater, and will just about anything.
He loves playing peek-a-boo.
He loves to clap his hands.
Rocky isn't afraid of anything.
He is very determined once he decides he wants something.

2.  Caleb's Graduation
After two years of hard work, Caleb finished his Master of Public Administration Degree with an emphasis in HR.  He loved the program, and we're so grateful he had this opportunity.

Now officially Master Caleb.

3.  Time with Family
After graduation we made a quick trip to California for my Grandpa's 90th Birthday.  It was a great chance to celebrate his life and see family.  Rocky loved meeting his 2nd cousins and their kids!

Rocky had fun with baby Cleo and baby Kendyl
Yay for Aunt Shelisa!

We also took a trip down to St. George with Caleb's parents and Isaac, Melissa, and McCoy.  Such good company and a great way to spend Mother's Day!  McCoy and Rocky will be good friends, I know it!
McCoy and Rocky:  I get the feeling these two boys are going to be Trouble, with a capital T.

4.  Moving to the Hill Country of Texas
We made a BIG change and moved from Provo, Utah to Kerrville, Texas.  The main reasons we chose Texas were, 1) Better cost of living and lots of job opportunities, 2) Getting away from the COLD, and 3) A great place to raise a family.

We're so excited to be here in Texas.  We're in a small town that is an hour north of San Antonio.  The Hill Country is beautiful.  It's definitely more green than Arizona and Utah.  Here's a quick peak at Kerrville.

5.  Caleb's New Job
Caleb just started a job at James Avery Jewelry as a Employee Relations Specialist.  Before he got the job we had never heard of the company, but apparently it's really popular in TX and the South.  I'm not going to lie, I'm excited about the perks of my husband working for
a Jewelry company.

This job couldn't be more perfect for Caleb.  James Avery is a wonderful company.  Already they have treated us so well in paying for our entire move. Caleb loves the people he's working with,
and his position is perfect for starting his career in HR.
